The Dongca Tibetan Medical Family, located in Ziga Township, Jiangda County, Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, was founded by the first-generation physician Benqin Weise (1715–1796). The family has been passed down through direct father-to-son succession for eight generations, with uninterrupted medical practice throughout. The family has been officially reviewed and certified by the World Record Certification as the “World’s Outstanding Multi-Generational Tibetan Medical Family”.
